Gojko Kačar ({{lang-sr-Cyrl|Гојко Качар}}, {{IPA-sh|ɡôːjko kâtʃaːr|pron}}; born 26 January 1987) is a Serbian footballer.

He made senior international debut in 2007. A Serbian international on 40 occasions he represented 2007 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, where won a silver medal, 2008 Summer Olympics and 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Career

Kačar played for Vojvodina's youth academy before breaking into the first team. In January 2008 he transferred to Hertha for a fee of €3 million, which makes him the most expensive player in the history of FK Vojvodina. Kačar was selected to play for the Serbia U21s at the 2007 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship in the Netherlands. He only played one game, against England, losing 0–2.

On 7 September 2008, Kačar scored five goals for the Serbian U21 team in their 8–0 demolition of Hungary U21 in a qualifying match for the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship.[1] In the tournament, in June 2009, he was the scorer of the only goal Serbia scored in three matches.

On 21 August 2010, Kačar debuted for his new team Hamburger, coming on as a substitute for Eljero Elia in the 79th minute of a 2–1 home turf win against Schalke.

On 19 July 2016, he signed a contract at Augsburg.[2]

In August 2018, he joined Cyprian club Anorthosis Famagusta.

Personal life

Kačar competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, People's Republic of China in a match against Australia on 7 August 2008. His uncle Slobodan Kačar won the Light Heavyweight Olympic Gold medal in boxing in 1980 competing for Yugoslavia. His other uncle, Tadija Kačar, won a silver Olympic medal in boxing in 1976, also competing for Yugoslavia.
