It houses 21 screen cinemas and has 2763 seats which is the largest in Malaysia. The biggest screen on the other hand is located Johor, which is the Paradigm Mall. The largest competitors of the cinema chain are LFS Cinemas, TGV Cinemas and MBO Cinemas. HistoryIt was founded in 1987 as Golden Communications Circuit, a joint venture between Hong Kong's Golden Harvest and the Malaysian conglomerate PPB Group, operating a small set of Malaysian cinemas leased from Shaw Brothers Studio.[2] Golden Screen Cinemas was founded in January 1998 as a merger of Golden Communications (GC) Circuit and Cathay Cinemas.[3] OverviewAs of January 2018, GSC has 351 screens at 36 locations throughout Malaysia.[4] The states with GSC are Johor (1), Kedah (2), Kuala Lumpur (8), Melaka (2), Negeri Sembilan (2), Pahang (3), Penang (3), Perak (1), Putrajaya (2), Sabah (2), Sarawak (2) and Selangor (8).
