The founding headmaster was Izharul Haque. Every year a large number of students sit for an admission test, and only a few of these can enter. The motto of the school is "Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve." The school has an alumni association: ORLABS (Old Rajshahi Laboratorians Society). HistoryThe school started with a few rooms at the Teacher's Training College building (commonly known as TT College) at Sepaipara and later moved to its own green premises at Laxmipur.
