The Guatemalan pygmy owl (Glaucidium cobanense) is a bird of the Strigidae family. It is considered a distinct species by some authorities, including the International Ornithologists' Union. Others, including the American Ornithological Society, consider it to be a subspecies of northern pygmy owl.
