Guildford Park offers academic courses as part of the Advanced Placement (AP) program. It was ranked 135th in the Fraser Institute annual ranking of schools in 2004/05.[1] HistoryOriginally constructed as Mary Jane Shannon Junior Secondary in 1971 (incorrect as I attended MJS in 1967), the school was renamed Guildford Park Secondary in 1977 due to clerical mixups with Mary Jane Shannon Elementary, which was next door. Guildford Park Secondary was rebuilt as an 8-12 school in 1984. AthleticsGuildford Park participates in the following extra-curricular sports, Soccer, Freestyle Wrestling, Highschool Volleyball, Rugby, Basketball, Badminton, Ultimate Frisbee, Ball Hockey and Ice Hockey. The Guildford Park wrestling team have won provincial high-school championships in 2004, 2008, and 2009 and have consistently finished the top ten every year. The Guildford Park ice hockey team recently won the division championship for Surrey High School Hockey League in 2014. ClubsGuildford Park has a wide variety of clubs, which include, but not limited to: Anime Club, Computer Club, Multi-cultural Club, Car Club, and more.
