It is {{convert|40|mi|0|abbr=out}} in length by {{convert|20|mi|0|abbr=out}} in breadth, with an excellent anchorage. The city of İzmir, an important Turkish seaport, surrounds the end of the gulf. Levent Marina is the only marina inside the city of İzmir. It is on the southern shore at 38° 24′ 40″ North and 27° 04′ 01″ East. See also
