The Bridge Builders) is a kibbutz in the Galilee Panhandle in northern Israel, 5 km east of Kiryat Shmona. The kibbutz is adjacent to the Hurshat Tal National Park and bisected by tributaries of the Jordan River, the Snir (Hatsbani), Koren, itself a tributary of the Dan and Tal.[1] In {{Israel populations|Year}} it had a population of {{Israel populations|Hagosherim}}.{{Israel populations|reference}} HistoryKibbutz HaGoshrim was founded in 1948 mostly by Jewish immigrants from Turkey. The kibbutz was established partly on the lands of the depopulated Arab village of al-Khisas,[2][3] The kibbutz opened a hotel in the manor house of Emir Faour, chief of the al-Fadel tribe, for whom the villagers worked as tenant farmers.[4] EconomyThe chief economic branches are agriculture and tourism. The kibbutz also owns Mepro, which manufactures carpenters' levels and military optics, and the Epilady company, established in 1986.[5] Epilady is a hand-held device developed by two Israeli engineers that revolutionized hair removal.[6] ArchaeologyExcavations at the Neolithic site of Hagoshrim in 2003 yielded a large assemblage of skeletal fragments, mainly of cattle and pigs, providing evidence of the domestication of these taxa in the southern Levant.[7] References1. ^Living the Israeli Dream without busting the budget 2. ^Morris, Benny, (second edition 2004 third printing 2006) The Birth Of The Palestinian Refugee Problem Revisited, Cambridge University Press, p380 {{ISBN|0-521-00967-7}} 3. ^{{Citation|title=All That Remains|first1=Walid|last1=Khalidi|authorlink=Walid Khalidi|year=1992|location=Washington D.C.|publisher=Institute for Palestine Studies|isbn=0-88728-224-5|page=465}} 4. ^{{Citation|title=Sacred Landscape: The Buried History of the Holy Land Since 1948|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=7itq6zYtSJwC|first1=Meron|last1=Benvenisti|authorlink=Meron Benvenisti|first2=Maxine|last2=Kaufman-Lacusta|year=2000|publisher=University of California Press|isbn=0-520-21154-5|page=207}} 5. ^EpiLady 6. ^[https://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=940DEFD7173BF933A25753C1A96E948260&n=Top/Reference/Times%20Topics/People/C/Chartrand,%20Sabra Israelis Revolutionize Hair Removal Industry] New York Times, 10 October 1988 7. ^[https://www.tau.ac.il/lifesci/zoology/members/dayan_files/articles/hagoshrim.pdf Analyzing the process of domestication: Hagoshrim as a case study] External links
