In 2004, it was re-released with a different cover and a different track listing. Critical receptionStanton Swihart of AllMusic gave the album 4.5 stars out of 5, saying: "The musical backdrop actually maintains the same high standard as the rhyming, something that had occasionally plagued past efforts from the Project Blowed crew."[1] He called it "one of those albums destined to go undeservedly neglected but deservedly revered."[4] Nathan Rabin of The A.V. Club said: "Haiku D'Etat gets better with each listen, with every spin yielding a greater appreciation of the three MCs' chemistry and the surprising layers of subtlety and sophistication lurking beneath the deceptively simple production."[2] Orlando Weekly called it "one of the most amazing hip-hop albums of the decade."[5] It was ranked at number 22 on Robert Christgau's "Pazz & Jop 2001: Dean's List".[6] Track listing{{Track listing| headline = Original edition (1999) | title1 = Haiku D'Etat | length1 = 4:00 | title2 = Non Compos Mentis | length2 = 4:19 | title3 = Studio Street Stage | length3 = 4:52 | title4 = Los Dangerous | length4 = 5:27 | title5 = Pro Tool Robots | length5 = 3:13 | title6 = Wants vs. Needs | length6 = 4:08 | title7 = S.O.S. | length7 = 4:29 | title8 = Firecracker | length8 = 4:48 | title9 = Still Rappin' | length9 = 4:53 | title10 = Other MC's | length10 = 4:03 | title11 = Untitled | length11 = 2:17 | title12 = West Side Slip and Slide | length12 = 7:17 | title13 = Kaya | length13 = 18:45 }}{{Track listing | headline = Reissue edition (2004) | collapsed = yes | title1 = Haiku D'Etat | length1 = 4:01 | title2 = Non Compos Mentis | length2 = 4:11 | title3 = Studio Street Stage | length3 = 4:48 | title4 = Los Dangerous | length4 = 5:26 | title5 = Pro Tool Robots | length5 = 3:13 | title6 = Wants vs. Needs | length6 = 4:09 | title7 = S.O.S. | length7 = 4:29 | title8 = Firecracker | length8 = 4:46 | title9 = Still Rappin' | length9 = 4:53 | title10 = Other MC's | length10 = 4:02 | title11 = Slower Traffic to the Right | length11 = 4:49 | title12 = Kaya | length12 = 3:56 | title13 = Wo Wo Wo Yeah Yeah Yeah | length13 = 2:04 }} References1. ^1 {{cite web|url=http://www.allmusic.com/album/haiku-detat-mw0000625757|title=Haiku d'Etat|work=AllMusic|first=Stanton|last=Swihart|access-date=May 3, 2015}} 2. ^1 {{cite web|url=http://www.avclub.com/review/haiku-detat-emhaiku-detatem-18228|title=Haiku D'Etat: Haiku D'Etat|work=The A.V.
