Hamren has an average literacy rate of 86%, higher than the national average of 74%: male literacy is 90%, and female literacy is 82%.Tourism attractionsThe town is surrounded by green hills. Breeze blow the town throughout the year. Kapili river passes through it.. Towards its southern border, there are the hills of Meghalaya and the lake of Borapani.
