HD 49878 (or M Camelopardalis{{cn|date=April 2017}}) is a single[16] star in the northern circumpolar constellation of Camelopardalis.

HD 49878 is an orange K-type giant with an apparent magnitude of +4.55. It is approximately 187 light years from Earth.
