Hector Ramirez (born in East Los Angeles, California) is a Mexican American mixed martial artist who has fought inside the UFC.

MMA career

Ramirez made his Octagon debut at UFC 65 – Bad Intentions in a losing effort against James Irvin. He won his most recent fight against famed K-1 legend Rick Roofus at A Night of Combat II. Ramirez also appears on Heavyweights as an assistant coach for Team Rampage.[1]

Hector "Sick dog" Ramirez is an American mixed martial artist who was born in East Los Angeles, California. Ramirez currently fights in the Bellator organization. He currently holds Pit Fighting 205-pound champion, ranked third in King of the Cage at light heavyweight.

Ramirez has a wrestling background. He went to John Glenn High of Norwalk where he was a CIF champion and state qualifier in wrestling. He hung up his wrestling shoes after high school because he needed to get a job to support his future family. After a four-year hiatus from wrestling, Ramirez decided to give it another try. Ramirez maintained a full class load and the construction job during his two years at East Los Angeles College. He became a two-time JC All-American and two-time state runner-up. He then went back to his alma mater to be the head coach, where he was awarded 2004 coach of the year by the Press Telegram. Ramirez started training in Muay Thai and mixed-martial arts after college. He has spent the past 15 years working construction during the day and training at night. Sick Dog Ramirez is currently training at his gym The Dog Pound in Norwalk, Ca.

Personal life

Hector, who is of Mexican American descent, is married and has four children.[2][3]
