Helga Schachinger (born 1963 in Grieskirchen, Upper Austria) is an Austrian psychologist and author. Helga Schachinger spent her childhood and youth in Peuerbach, Upper Austria, graduated from High School in Linz and studied psychology at the University of Vienna and at Columbia University, New York . She received her Doctorate from the University of Vienna. Her research focuses on self-esteem. She is lecturing at the University of Vienna, faculty of psychology, and works as an independent social- and industrial psychologist.
