Distribution and habitatIt is found in Indonesia and northern Australia. SubspeciesThe hornbill friarbird (P. b. yorki) of Cape York Peninsula and coastal north-eastern Queensland is sometimes considered a subspecies of the helmeted friarbird or as a full species.
