}}Hizb-e-Abu Omar ({{lang-ur|حزب ابوعمر}}) is a militant Islamist organization that operates in Bangladesh. It broke away from Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami, a militant organization affiliated with Al-Qaeda. It has links to Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh.[1] The Bangladeshi government's Rapid Action Battalion arrested ten HAO members in Dhaka, Barisal and northern Bhaluka town on 6 April 2007. The members confessed to their involvement in the organization and said they used kidnappings to raise money for their attacks.[1] References1. ^1 {{cite news |title=10 of a new militant group arrested in Bangladesh |url=https://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P3-1250915001.html |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20181118194322/https://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P3-1250915001.html |dead-url=yes |archive-date=18 November 2018 |newspaper=Hindustan Times |date=6 April 2007 |via=HighBeam Research |subscription=yes}} {{crime-org-stub}} 2 : Jihadist groups in Bangladesh|Islamism in Bangladesh |
