It is endemic to Colombia and only known from the eastern slope of the Cordillera Oriental in Boyacá[[3] and Casanare Departments at elevations of {{convert|1600|–|1750|m|abbr=on}} above sea level.[3]]Its natural habitats are cloud forests where it occurs near streams.
