HistoryThe station was opened on 15 February 1893, with the name rendered in Japanese as {{nihongo2|一ノ戸駅}}.[1] The kanji characters for the name were changed to {{nihongo2|一戸駅}} on 1 November 1907.[1] The station was absorbed into the JR East network upon the privatization of Japanese National Railways (JNR) on 1 April 1987,[1] and was transferred to the Iwate Ginga Railway on 1 September 2002.
