It was formed in 1976 by the merger of the municipalities of Iruña (Trespuentes and Víllodas) and Nanclares de la Oca (Montevite, Ollávarre and Nanclares). Iruña de Oca is the most populated municipality of the Cuadrilla de Añana. More than the 35% of the people of Añana live there. It is located in the central part of the Álava province, just 14 km far from Vitoria, the capital city of the Basque Country. External links
