It is the only inhabited island among the twenty-one which make up the Isle-aux-Grues archipelago. Politically, it lies within Saint-Antoine-de-l'Isle-aux-Grues. TransportationThe island has an airstrip which is the only access to the island during the winter. Isle-aux-Grues is also served by a ferry during the summer.[1] EducationChildren from Isle-aux-Grues attend school in Montmagny, Quebec, travelling by plane each day.[1] Person connected to the island
May 2010 plane crashOn May 19, 2010 at about 3:30 p.m. Eastern time, a Cessna 172 airplane carrying four people crashed on Isle-aux-Grues, killing three people initially.
