He made his debut for the Croatia national football team on 10 March 1999 against Greece, coming on as a 61st-minute substitute in for Goran Jurić. He went on to be capped a total of 14 times for his country. On 13 December 2011 the player was sentenced to 9 months of prison due to his involvement in match fixing.[1] Personal lifeHis wife, Sanja, is also Istrian, from Opatija, and she's the daughter of former football legendary captain of HNK Rijeka, Srećko Juričić.
