He is openly gay, and is the chair of the Screen Actors Guild National LGBT Actors Committee.[3][4][5] Stuart was nominated for a Gay International Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in the independent film Coffee Date. He produced and starred in his own independent film, 10 Attitudes.[6] Stuart released a stand-up comedy CD, Jason Stuart: Gay Comedy Without a Dress and a DVD of his comedy special, Jason Stuart: Making It to the Middle for Here! Stuart was raised in a Jewish family.
