Jean-Baptiste Muard (Vireaux, 1809-Pierre-Qui-Vire, 1854) was a French Benedictine, reformer, and founder of religious orders. BiographyOrdained in 1834, he was parish priest of Joux-la-Ville and then St. Martin d'Avallon[1] before becoming a monk. He founded the French province of the Cassinese Congregation of the Primitive Observance[2] and the Society of Saint Edmund in 1843.
