Jenks Public Schools is a PreK-12 public school system located in Jenks, Oklahoma.

For more than 100 years, Jenks Public Schools has provided students with a quality education in an environment known nationwide for high academic standards and innovation. Located just south of Tulsa, Jenks Public Schools now encompasses over 40 square miles and serves more than 12,000 students at its ten school sites. It is the eleventh largest public school district in the state of Oklahoma and was recently recognized as the best district in Oklahoma (Niche, 2018 Best Schools). The District’s dedication to excellence has led to academic success as well as both local and national recognition. The District motto, “A Tradition of Excellence with a Vision for Tomorrow,” serves as a guide for all Jenks educators as they help prepare today’s students for the future.[1]

Dr. Stacey Butterfield was named Superintendent of Jenks Public Schools in 2013. A proud Oklahoman and member of the Jenks’ community, Dr. Butterfield is fiercely committed to continuing Jenks Public Schools tradition of excellence and to providing each student with an exceptional educational experience. After starting her career in education as a first grade teacher at Jenks East Elementary in 1989, Dr. Butterfield served Jenks Public Schools as a Building Principal, Communications Director, Human Resources Supervisor, Assistant Superintendent, and Deputy Superintendent. Extensive experience as an educator and administrator has provided Dr. Butterfield with a unique understanding of the needs of students and teachers as well as the knowledge required to effectively manage all business aspects of Jenks Public Schools.[2]

The school district was established in 1907 and classes were initially held in a two-room building that was intended to be a cheese factory. The first graduating class had 4 students.

On November 22, 2005, Jenks Public Schools was announced as a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipient.[3]

The Jenks football program has won 15 state championships, and its rivalry with Union High School has been named as one of the top high school football rivalries in the nation.
