释义 |
John Q. Jordan was an African-American journalist who covered all-black marine units in Italy during World War II. While there, he filed dispatches as a correspondent for the black-oriented Norfolk Journal and Guide.[1] He also aided the evacuation of injured units and prepared black soldiers for interviews with white journalists. LegacyNorfolk State University now awards the John Q. Jordan scholarship to undergraduate journalism students.[2]References1. ^{{cite web|last=Tucker|first=Cynthia|title=A Place at the Table|url=http://www.cjr.org/review/a_place_at_the_table.php|publisher=Columbia Journalism Review|accessdate=12 April 2011}} 2. ^{{cite web|last=Norfolk State University|title=Scholarship Guide|url=http://www.nsu.edu/financialaid/pdf/scholarshipguide08-09edited5-22-08.pdf|accessdate=12 April 2011|pages=7|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20100528154215/http://www.nsu.edu/financialaid/pdf/scholarshipguide08-09edited5-22-08.pdf|archivedate=28 May 2010|df=}}
