The championship consists of twelve competing teams in a home and away league system. It is currently known as the AL-Manaseer Jordanian Pro League, after the FA signed a sponsorship deal with Ziyad AL-Manaseer Companies Group[1]. Competition formatThe competition format follows the usual double round-robin format. During the course of a season, which lasts from September to May, each club plays every other club twice, once at home and once away, for a total of 22 games. Teams receive three points for a win, one point for a draw, and no points for a loss. Teams are ranked by total points, with the highest-ranked club at the end of the season crowned champion. Promotion and relegationA system of promotion and relegation exists between the Jordan Premier League and the Jordan League Division 1. The two lowest placed teams in Premier League are relegated to the League Division 1, and the top two teams from the League Division 1 promoted to Premier League. Qualification for Asian competitionsThe first placed team in Jordan Premier League entering the play-offs for the group stage of AFC Champions League[2], the second placed team and the winner of Jordan FA Cup play in the AFC Cup. but if the first placed team loss in the play-offs for the group stage of AFC Champions League, the will play in the AFC Cup instead of the second placed team. AFC CupJordan is one of the most successful countries in the AFC Cup with three titles second after Kuwait, 2 for Al-Faisaly (2005 and 2006) and 1 for Shabab Al-Ordon (2007), more than any other country who has their clubs eligible to play in the AFC Cup[3]. {{location map+ |Jordan |float=right |width=350 |caption=Locations of the 2018–19 Jordan League teams |places= {{location map~ |Jordan |lat=31.872326 |long=36.001749 |label=Al-AhliAl-Baqa'a Al-Faisaly Al-Jazeera Al-Wehdat Al-Yarmouk Shabab Al-Ordon|position=right}}{{location map~ |Jordan |lat=29.533789 |long=35.000967 |label=Al-Aqaba|position=right}}{{location map~ |Jordan |lat=32.5375 |long=35.860278 |label=Al-Hussein|position=left}}{{location map~ |Jordan |lat=32.540556 |long=36.019444 |label=Al-Ramtha|position=right}}{{location map~ |Jordan |lat=32.341992 |long=36.206290 |label=Mansheyat Bani Hasan|position=right}}{{location map~ |Jordan |lat=31.163166 |long=35.74683 |label=That Ras|position=bottom}} }} Stadiums and locations
