[ The Šics brothers' three medals mean they have won more Olympic medals than any other Latvian sportsperson.[1]]Šics won five medals at the FIL World Luge Championships with one silver (Mixed team: 2016) and four bronzes (Men's doubles: 2011, Mixed team: 2008, 2009, 2013). He also won 12 medals at the FIL European Luge Championships with two golds in 2008 and 2010, three silvers in 2014, 2016 and 2018, and seven bronzes in 2006, 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019. Šics' best individual European championship finish in the men's doubles event was second in 2018.
