As of 2011 census, the town had a population of 31,751. EtymologyKalambur was once a battlefield known as "Por Kalam". Por Kalam has became "Kalam Por" on years, which was later called as "Kalambur". Old name for the town is 'Aliyabad'. Demographics{{As of|2001}} India census, Kalambur had a population of 13,291.[1] Males constituted 49.6% of the population and females 50.4%.[1] Kalambur had an average literacy rate of 75%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy was 79%, and female literacy was 57%.
