The village is traditionally inhabited by Rusyns, as one of their westernmost settlements. HistoryIn historical records the village was first mentioned in 1342. GeographyThe municipality lies at an altitude of 588 metres and covers an area of 29.166 km². It has a population of about 1409 people.
