}}{{Starbox end}}Kappa Lyrae, Latinized from κ Lyrae, is a solitary 4th magnitude star approximately 238 light years away from Earth, in the northern constellation of Lyra. It is a giant star of the spectral type K2III[4] with an effective temperature of 4,638[14] kelvins. It is cooler, yet larger and brighter, than the Sun. It is also a suspected small amplitude variable star.[21]
