Karl Sandoval is a luthier. He is best known for making a polka dot V for Randy Rhoads,[1] in addition to his work for Eddie Van Halen{{Citation needed|date=February 2008}} and George Lynch{{Citation needed|date=February 2008}} during the 1980s. Sandoval started in the guitar business by working at Fender in the 1970s. He then moved on to working at Charvel’s Guitar Custom Shop in Covina, California, where luthier Wayne Charvel taught Sandoval the basics of guitar repair and creation. He started his own business repairing guitars in 1979 and is still in business today, building custom amplifiers in addition to building and repairing guitars.
