The station licensee, School of Christ, a small private Christian school in Quincy, Illinois, was granted a construction permit from the Federal Communications Commission on November 26, 2001, with the stated purpose "to further the Gospel of Christ to our students and the surrounding area" and "to instruct those students and other interested area youth in the field of radio electronics and production".[1] The station went on the air and applied for a license to cover in August 2002, and the FCC granted this license in September.[2] The station used the slogan "Quincy's True Power Station". KQPW-LP is no longer broadcasting as the FCC canceled its license on June 21, 2006.[3] ProgrammingThe station's programming included techno music with a priest speaking Bible verses on top. The primary broadcast service area was Quincy, Illinois, across the Mississippi River.[4] References1. ^{{cite web |work=Federal Communications Commission |date=2001-01-16 |url=http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/cdbsmenu.hts?context=25&appn=100547079&formid=318&fac_num=131727 |title=Application for construction permit for a low power FM broadcast station}} 2. ^{{cite web |work=Federal Communications Commission |date=2002-09-20 |url=http://www.fcc.gov/Bureaus/MB/Public_Notices/Brdcst_Actions/ac020920.txt |title=Report No. 45324 - Broadcast Actions}} 3. ^{{cite web |work=Federal Communications Commission |date=2006-06-21 |url=http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/pubacc/prod/app_det.pl?Application_id=609477 |title=Application Search Details for KQPW-LP's license to cover}} 4. ^1 {{cite news |work=After Action Report |title=We Care Campaigns |year=2003 |first=Larry |last=West |url=http://www.wecaretoday.com/aar/aarspr2003.pdf |publisher=We Care Ministries |location=West Monroe, Louisiana |format=PDF |quote=We Care one-minute daily and five-minute daily radio programs are being aired in different locations around the country.
