The station was owned by KM Communications of Skokie, Illinois. It was an automated English language independent station. HistoryOn October 7, 2004, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) granted a permit to KM Communications to construct a low-power television station on VHF channel 6 to serve Yuma, Arizona. The station was originally assigned callsign K06OD, but in November 2005, took the call letters KVFA-LP. The station was finally licensed on November 6, 2007 by the FCC. KVFA went off the air on April 30, 2012 due to financial issues that resulted in the station losing its transmitter site;[1] it never returned to the air, and the license was canceled on June 19, 2013.[2] References1. ^{{cite web|last=Bae|first=Kevin|title=Notification of Suspension of Operations / Request for Silent STA|url=http://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/prefill_and_display.pl?Application_id=1499139&Service=TX&Form_id=910&Facility_id=131144|date=May 8, 2012|work=CDBS Public Access|publisher=Federal Communications Commission|accessdate=June 24, 2013}} {{Imperial Valley TV}}2. ^{{cite web|last=Hashemzadeh|first=Hossein|title=Re: KVFA-LP, Yuma, AZ|url=http://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/getimportletter_exh.cgi?import_letter_id=41761|work=CDBS Public Access|publisher=Federal Communications Commissions|accessdate=June 24, 2013|format=PDF|date=June 19, 2013}} 3 : Defunct terrestrial television stations in the United States|Television channels and stations established in 2007|Television channels and stations disestablished in 2012 |
