The station is owned by Morgan Murphy Media. It operates on UHF digital channel 45. Even though KVTX-LP operates a digital signal of its own, its signal only reaches the immediate Victoria area; therefore, it is simulcast in 9 widescreen standard definition on the second digital subchannel of sister station KVCT, in order to provide full-market over-the-air service of the station. KVTX-LP used to be carried as a digital subchannel of other sister station KAVU-TV's digital signal. The station is part of a group of television stations in Victoria that are owned by Saga, based at KAVU-TV. It has operated since the early 2000s.
