Leeds University Business School is a business school in the University of Leeds,[3] in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The University is a member of the Russell group. The school is accredited with the AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS.

Location

Leeds University Business School is housed in the 19th-century Maurice Keyworth building (previously Leeds Grammar School). It is situated on the Western Campus of the University of Leeds, located {{convert|1|mi|km|1}} north of Leeds city centre. The Marks & Spencer company archive is also housed here, containing over 60,000 artefacts and pieces moved there in 2009 from London to Leeds, the birthplace of the company. Further buildings include the Liberty Building, home to the Faculty of Law, Charles Thackrah building and Western Lecture Theatre.[4]

Profile and reputation

Leeds University Business School delivers an academic education at undergraduate, masters, MBA, PhD and executive education levels, to students from more than 100 countries.

The Business School is 'triple accredited' by AACSB,[5] AMBA,[6] and EQUIS[7]. Other major accreditations and accolades at School and programme level include British Psychological Society,[8] Chartered Association of Business Schools,[9] Chartered Institute of Marketing,[10] Chartered Institute of Personnel Development,[11] ESRC,[12] Institute of Export[13] and the Chartered Banker Institute.[14] The Business School is an Award Winner from the Small Business Charter,[15] in recognition of kick-starting British Enterprise.

The Business School is a top ten UK business and management research institution according to the results of the Research Excellence Framework, 2014. Over 200 academic staff conduct research across the six divisions of Accounting and Finance, Economics, International Business, Management, Marketing and Work and Employment Relations[16]

The Business School is regularly placed amongst the world's top 100 business schools in Financial Times and The Economist rankings, in recognition of excellence in teaching and research. Some highlights include:

  • The Business School is ranked 92nd globally by the Financial Times for its Full-time MBA. (The Financial Times Global MBA Rankings 2018[17])
  • The Financial Times Master in Finance ranks the Business School 15th in the UK, and 61st globally. (The Financial Times Masters in Finance Rankings 2018[18])
  • The High Fliers Report ranks the Business School as the 7th most targeted university in the UK by graduate recruiters. (The Graduate Market 2018[19])
