}}Lepidiolamprologus hecqui is a species of shell-living cichlid endemic to Lake Tanganyika. This species can reach a length of {{convert|8|cm|in}} TL. This species can also be found in the aquarium trade.[2] The specific name of this fish honours the Belgian soldier and anti-slave trade campaigner Lieutenant Célestin Hecq (1859-1910) who collected a specimen of the catfish Auchenoglanis scutatus in the mouth of which the type of this species was discovered.[3] References1. ^{{cite iucn | author = Bigirimana, C. | year = 2006 | title = Neolamprologus hecqui | journal = The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species | volume = 2006 | page = e.T60583A12372533 | url = http://dx.doi.org/10.2305/IUCN.UK.2006.RLTS.T60583A12372533.en | accessdate = 30 January 2019}} {{Taxonbar|from=Q1656395}}{{Lamprologini-stub}}2. ^{{FishBase |genus= Lepidiolamprologus|species= hecqui| month = October | year = 2018}} 3. ^{{cite web | url = http://www.etyfish.org/cichlidae4/ | title = Order CICHLIFORMES: Family CICHLIDAE: Subfamily PSEUDOCRENILABRINAE (l-o) | accessdate = 30 January 2019 | author1 = Christopher Scharpf | author2 = Kenneth J.
