Liendo is a municipality in the autonomous community of Cantabria (Spain). The municipality is located in the east-coast region, but unlike other coastal towns do not have extensive beaches, although a spectacular cliff coastline. It sits on a beautiful green valley, especially suitable for agriculture, composed of thirteen districts. It is located 52 kilometers from Santander, bordering Laredo and Castro Urdiales (two of the most important villages in Cantabria).

Hazas consistorial.En House around the capital city, are grouped the remaining twelve districts. The coastline is very rugged, offering the highest cliffs in the region. There are two small coves, sheltered from the majestic Mount Candina and Yesera, which are: San Julián and Valdearenas (or Sonabia), although access to the latter must be done from Oriñón in Castro Urdiales.

This is a closed valley surrounded by mountains and with a little height endorheic river network that drains into a single sink or Ponor, known as "Eye of Rucueva" in the neighborhood of Isequilla. This peculiarity characterizes it as a polje.

Other highlights include civic buildings, stately homes with masonry facade on farms closed. Highlight the mansion Albo, in Iseca Vieja neighborhood.

The Church dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption of Liendo, a Site of Local Interest since 2002. Monumental church with a rich interior. The temple has a porch on the south and gateway half a point in double columns and niches at the top. Excellent is also the tower.

La Ermita de San Andrés and Roman bridge access to it, well inventoried since 2002. It is in the neighborhood of Villaviad.

La Ermita de San Julian, now in ruins, is situated in a beautiful place with beautiful views across the valley. It is the oldest building in the city, dated by Dr. Ramon Bohigas Roldán to the end of the 12th or the beginning of the 13th century.

Liendo has a great heritage and archaeological caving.

Playas: Playa San Julian: Starting from the Iseca Vieja neighborhood, we come to one of the most emblematic Liendo, the beach of San Julian, with barely 180 meters in length is frequented every summer. Immersed in a unique landscape, among steep coastal cliffs, is the only beach that is accessible from the valley itself. Just before reaching the beach, a path leads to the hermitage of San Julian, now in ruins, but recently conditioned environment. Worth the view of Valle Liendo you have from here, to appreciate the contrast between the green valley and the cliffs from the beach of San Julian.

Vadelarenas beach (or Sonabia): Set to 3.5 km Oriñón. Sheltered beach of 154 meters in length, with sloping drop remarkably high. Pedestrian access is (there are several paths). Often thought erroneously that his property in the municipality of Castro Urdiales.
