It is endemic to Peninsular Malaysia where it is only known from the Cameron Highlands and Fraser's Hill, both in Pahang state.[2]Limnonectes nitidus inhabits montane rainforests. These frogs congregate and breed in permanently wet seepage areas.[1]Limnonectes nitidus has a small range, and its habitat is threatened by habitat loss caused by development for agriculture and tourism.[1] References1. ^1 2 {{Cite journal | author = Tzi Ming, L. | author2 = , Yaakob, N. | title = Limnonectes nitidus | journal = The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species | volume = 2004 | page = e.T58361A11760923 | publisher = IUCN | date = 2004 | url = http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/58361/0 | doi = 10.2305/IUCN.UK.2004.RLTS.T58361A11760923.en | access-date = 11 January 2018}} 2. ^{{cite web |url=http://research.amnh.org/vz/herpetology/amphibia/Amphibia/Anura/Dicroglossidae/Dicroglossinae/Limnonectes/Limnonectes-tweediei |title=Limnonectes tweediei (Smith, 1935) |author=Frost, Darrel R. |year=2014 |work=Amphibian Species of the World: an Online Reference.
