History{{unsourced section|date=September 2018}}In 1948, Lutheran West's precursor, Lutheran High School, was built in the east side of Cleveland. In 1958, the school separated from the old Lutheran High School in downtown Cleveland, due to the construction of Interstate 90, into Lutheran West and Lutheran High School East. EnrollmentFor the 2015-16 school year, there were 416 students enrolled at the school in grades 9-12. Of these students, 82.5% were white, 5.0% were black, 5.0% were Asian, 3.9% were Hispanic, and 3.6% were multiracial; no students identified as Native American, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific islanders.
