The Malik (or Malick, Mallick, {{lang-ur|ملک}}) are a Muslim community found in the state of Bihar in India.[1] A large numbers of them migrated to Pakistan following the independence of Pakistan.{{Citation needed|date=June 2011}}

History and origin

The group descended from Syed Ibrahim Mallick Baya, a Sufi born near Ghazni (Afghanistan), descended from ancestors who had migrated there from Baghdad.{{Citation needed|date=May 2011}}.

They are mostly concentrated in the villages and towns in the districts of Patna, Nalanda, Gaya, Jehanabad, Nawada, Jamui, Sheikhpura and Munger.{{Citation needed|date=May 2011}} .
