He has also played for the Tennessee Valley Vipers, Detroit Fury, Las Vegas Gladiators, Columbus Destroyers, Austin Wranglers, Dallas Vigilantes, Orlando Predators, Tampa Bay Storm and Baltimore Brigade.[1] His no. 19 worn during his time with the Brigade is a tribute to the late Baltimore Colts great Johnny Unitas, who wore that number. Early lifeLewis attended Lyman High School in Longwood, Florida, where he was a two sport athlete, participating soccer and football.[2] Lewis was one of the top prep players in the state of Florida for soccer.[3] He joined the football team after his friend, Joe Gioia, had dared Lewis that he couldn't kick a football as far as a soccer ball.[4] College careerLewis continued his soccer career when he earned a scholarship to play at Florida International University.[3] After one season at FIU, Lewis transferred to University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he played a single season for the 49ers before quitting soccer.[4]Professional careerLewis began playing professional football in 2003, when he signed with the Tennessee Valley Vipers of af2. Playing for the Austin Wranglers in 2007, Lewis enjoyed the best year of his career, earning First Team All-Arena honors[5] and was named the AFL Kicker of the Year.[6] On March 21, 2018, Lewis was assigned to the Baltimore Brigade.[7] With the Brigade, Lewis won his second Kicker of the Year award in 2018.[8] On March 6, 2019, Lewis was assigned to the expansion Atlantic City Blackjacks.[9] References1. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.arenafootball.com/sports/a-footbl/aflprd/mtt/lewis_mark00.html |title=Mark Lewis |publisher=Arena Football League |work=www.arenafootball.com |accessdate=January 20, 2014}} 2. ^{{cite web |url=http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/1998-03-29/news/9803300570_1_mark-lewis-chris-lewis-sandidge |title=Lewis Stands Out As Top Dog For Greyhounds |author=Jill Cousins |date=March 29, 1998 |publisher=Orlando Sentinel |work=www.orlandosentinel.com |accessdate=January 20, 2014}} 3. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/1998-02-06/news/9802060622_1_seminole-soccer-lewis |title=Lyman's Lewis Signs With Top School Fiu |author=Stephanie Storm |date=February 6, 1998 |publisher=Orlando Sentinel |work=www.orlandosentinel.com |accessdate=January 20, 2014}} 4. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2012-07-21/sports/os-orlando-predators-kicker-milwaukee-mustangs-20120721_1_preds-bret-munsey-mark-lewis |title=After late start in football, Lyman grad Mark Lewis makes mark as Preds kicker |author=Austin Lyon |date=July 21, 2012 |publisher=Orlando Sentinel |work=www.orlandosentinel.com |accessdate=January 20, 2014}} 5. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.austinchronicle.com/daily/sports/2007-06-28/497333/ |title=Two Wranglers Get Individual AFL Honors |author=Jeremy Martin |date=June 28, 2007 |publisher=Austin Chronicle Corp. |work=www.austinchronicle.com |accessdate=January 20, 2014}} 6. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.oursportscentral.com/services/releases/?id=3499431 |title=Mark Lewis Named AFL Kicker Of The Year For 2007 |date=July 2, 2007 |publisher=OurSports Central |work=www.oursportscentral.com |accessdate=January 20, 2014}} 7. ^{{cite web | url=https://web.archive.org/web/20180328013828/http://www.arenafan.com/teams/Baltimore_Brigade-235/transactions/ | title=Team Transactions | publisher=arenafan.com | accessdate=March 27, 2018}} 8. ^{{cite web |title=Baltimore's Mark Lewis Named Kicker of the Year |url=http://www.arenafan.com/news/?page=pressrel&article=13916 |website=Arena Fan |accessdate=16 September 2018 |date=23 July 2018}} 9. ^{{cite web | url=http://www.arenafan.com/teams/Atlantic_City_Blackjacks-239/transactions/ | title=Team Transactions | publisher=arenafan.com | accessdate=March 8, 2019}} External links
