It resembles the European tree frog (H. arborea), but is larger (some females are up to {{convert|65|mm|in}} long), has longer hind legs, and the flank stripe only reaches to the front legs (often starting at the eyes, not at the nostrils). The croaking resembles that of H. arborea, but it is deeper and slower. DistributionThis frog is found in southern France, northern Italy (only Liguria), southern Portugal, Spain (from Catalonia to Andalusia), Menorca, and Madeira. It can also be found in Garajonay National Park, on the island of La Gomera. References
