He has been the president of the Romanian Football Federation between 1990 and 2014. His nickname was "The Godfather". As a player, Sandu has scored 166 goals in Liga I, being ranked seventh in the all-time scoring table, but has never been the top scorer in a single season. He was a forward. His former wife Simona Arghir was a handball player and their daughter Raluca was a professional tennis player.[1][2][3][4] HonoursClub
