词条 | Morris Ketchum |
释义 |
Ketchum was also a director of the Illinois Central Railroad. During his time on the board, he was able to funnel many of that railroad's locomotive orders to Rogers.[3] Morris Ketchum, with his son Edward B. Ketchum, led the financial firm of Ketchum, Son and Company in New York City. Edward was later found to have embezzled nearly $2.5 million to cover his losses in the 1860s; it was Morris's good reputation that kept the public from suspecting Edward of embezzlement for a time.[4] References1. ^{{cite web| author=Reitwiesner, William Addams| url=http://www.wargs.com/political/thorne.html| title=The Ancestors of Julia Stimson Thorne| accessdate=October 11, 2005}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Ketchum, Morris}}{{US-rail-bio-stub}}2. ^{{cite journal|author1=Moshein, Peter |author2=Rothfus, Robert R. |lastauthoramp=yes | year=1992| title=Rogers locomotives: A brief history and construction list| journal=Railroad History| issue=167| pages=13–147 }} 3. ^{{White - History of the American locomotive}} p. 24. 4. ^{{cite web| author=Kalinke, Tom| publisher=Museum of American Financial History| year=2004| url=http://www.financialhistory.org/fh/2000/evening.htm| title=Financial History| accessdate=October 7, 2005 |archiveurl = https://web.archive.org/web/20051016183247/http://www.financialhistory.org/fh/2000/evening.htm |archivedate = October 16, 2005}} 5 : 1796 births|1880 deaths|American people in rail transportation|American railway entrepreneurs|19th-century American businesspeople |
