It is owned by the State of Vermont.[1] The airport had scheduled passenger airline service via Air Vermont in the 1980s. In April 2014, the airport closed for four months of improvements, including rebuilding the runway and lighting; it reopened on August 1, with private company Stowe Aviation operating the facility.[3] The improvements were funded by a $4 million federal grant from the Airport Improvement Project, and made up the first phase of Stowe Aviation's planned upgrades, with $20 million more in private investment to be used to build a new terminal building, maintenance facility, and other supporting infrastructure.[2] Commercial air service resumed in December 2015, when Tradewind Aviation begins service to Westchester County Airport in White Plains, New York.[3] Facilities and aircraftMorrisville–Stowe State Airport covers an area of {{convert|112|acre|ha|lk=on}} which contains one asphalt paved runway (1/19) measuring 3,701 x 75 ft (1,128 x 23 m).[1] For the 12-month period ending April 30, 2005, the airport had 18,020 aircraft operations, an average of 49 per day: 96% general aviation, 3% military and 1% air taxi. There are 28 aircraft based at this airport: 64% single engine, 7% multi-engine and 29% gliders.[1] Airlines and destinations{{Airport destination list| Tradewind Aviation | Seasonal: White Plains }} References1. ^1 2 3 {{FAA-airport|ID=MVL|use=PU|own=PU|site=25496.1*A}}, effective 2007-07-05 2. ^1 {{cite web | url=http://vtdigger.org/2014/07/31/morrisville-stowe-state-airport-reopens-friday/ | title=Morrisville-Stowe State Airport reopens Friday | publisher=VTDigger.com | date=31 July 2014 | accessdate=22 September 2015}} 3. ^{{cite web | url=http://vtdigger.org/2015/09/18/passenger-service-from-morrisville-to-nyc-area-takes-flight/ | title=Passenger service from Morrisville to NYC area to take flight | publisher=VTDigger.com | date=18 September 2015 | accessdate=22 September 2015}} External links
