The cloud based platform works across a number of different digital device platforms and is tailored specifically for various partners[1] including rara.com,[2] RIM,[3] Sony,[4] Sony Ericsson,[5] HP,[6] BSkyB,[7] Vodafone,[8] Telenor,[9] Hutchison Telecom[10] and Vodacom.[11] ServicesIn February 2009 Omnifone introduced MusicStation Next Generation,[12] a white label unlimited music audio and video download and streaming solution for ISPs and consumer electronics device vendors. The cloud based solution offers interoperable music on a wide range of connected devices, including home entertainment systems, gaming consoles, and car audio systems. MusicStation Max[13] is a white label pre-licensed music service development programme for mobile device vendors. Omnifone partners with device vendors to develop MusicStation Max powered devices pre-licensed for unlimited music downloads.[14] The service enables users to download, play and share unlimited amounts of music directly on their device. The service enables users and keep a specific amount their favourite music at the end of their contract. MusicStation Max is interoperable with MusicStation Desktop Edition[15] with both services provided by partners across multiple territories.[16] MusicStation Max allows users at the end of the subscription to migrate their music to their next MusicStation Max device and continue access to unlimited music downloads or to keep playing their favourite tracks. The first handset vendor signed up for MusicStation Max is Sony Ericsson for PlayNow plus.[17] Omnifone has reported that it is in talks with a number of vendors for MusicStation Max. Sony Ericsson's PlayNow services uses MusicStation Max.[14] The first Walkman handsets with PlayNow plus were launched on 24 November 2008 by Telenor in Sweden. Sony Ericsson has rolled out the service in 2009 with Swisscom in Switzerland, Singtel in Singapore and Orange in Austria with further launches planned with mobile carriers internationally. MusicStation Desktop Edition[15] enables consumers to download, play and share music, direct to their desktop computer. The service is provided in partnership with personal computer vendors, mobile carrier networks, and broadband providers. The service offers music recommendations, connected community services and features, and an automatic back-up of private and public playlists to the cloud, plus online search and discovery capabilities. The service is able to synchronise with all other MusicStation-powered services and mobile devices via the cloud. In April 2009 Hutchison Telecom became the first[16] Omnifone partner to introduce MusicStation Desktop Edition to users in Hong Kong on its 3 network. Omnifone’s MusicStation was the first subscription based unlimited music download service available on mobiles in the UK launching with Vodafone in November 2007.[18] In June 2008, Omnifone announced that MusicStation had become the largest subscription based unlimited music download service in the UK within seven months of launching on Vodafone.[19] Omnifone's MusicStation platform powers rara.com a new access based streaming music service 'for the mass market' launched across 16 countries including the US and Europe on 13 December 2011and rara.com.[2] and across New Zealand[20] the following day.[21] AKB48, O-Zone, The Cardigans, Scatman John, Babyface, Me & My, Mr. Big, Green Day, Fishbone, The Blow Monkeys, Deborah Gibson, Tiffany, Swing Out Sister, Kiss, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Boyz II Men, Lenny Kravitz, Meja, Charlotte Church, Alanis Morissette, Enya, David Guetta, David Bisbal, Destiny's Child, t.A.T.u., Michelle Branch, Shakira, Soy Luna, Soy Luna Live, SKE48, Alicia Keys, Busta Rhymes, BTS, Beyoncé, Holly Valance, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Morning Musume, Avril Lavigne, Hilary Duff, The Offspring, Ana Johnsson, Backstreet Boys, Stevie Wonder, James Blunt, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jennifer Lopez, Daniel Powter, Fergie, Sarah Brightman, Delta Goodrem, U2, John Legend, Kanye West, Keyakizaka46, My Chemical Romance, Maroon 5, Leona Lewis, Flo Rida, Lady Gaga, The Black Eyed Peas, Oasis, Christina Aguilera, Norah Jones, HKT48, Redfoo, Taylor Swift, TWICE, Rihanna, Linkin Park, Ne-Yo, NMB48, Nogizaka46, Carly Rae Jepsen, The Strypes, Bruno Mars, Little Mix, One Direction, Katy Perry, Coldplay, Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Underworld, Fifth Harmony Perfume and several Korean-pop groups.
