It is inhabited by Sehrawat Gotra Jats. The Village is now shifted to Vasant Kunj but the Samadhis of village elders still exist at the site of AAI Nangal Dewat is settled in fourblocks ABCD and have many parks and lands for future use. This is first modern village of India having broad roads and proper multi storey homes. Rental income is also another source of income for villagers Demographics{{As of|2001}} India census,[1] Nangal Dewat had a population of 13,168. Males constitute 56% of the population and females 44%. Nangal Dewat has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 52%. In Nangal Dewat, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. This village was demolished in 2007 for the IGI airport extension. The inhabitants removed to Vasant Kunj (Rangpuri Pahari). AAI (Airport Authority of India) and DDA (Delhi Development Authority) are doing major malfunctioning to allot the alternative plots. A major part of villagers would not get alternative plots till August 2013. Now officials of the most corrupt department of India i.e., MCD are asking for hefty bribes of the resident villagers to permit home construction. Most of the villagers are not living in the new Nangal Dewat as the plots are still not allotted to them, More than 58 families including children and old people were on hunger strike since 12 December 2016 although they possess the proofs from the High Court and Lt. Governor's Order. People were waiting for justice as of 2017 however village were displaced on 2007 by AAI Without paying even a single rupee. Corruption by DDA is very sad in allotting plots according to 1972 old survey as by 2007 these nuclear families have grown many times & single plot leads to loss of valuable land to villagers as maximum plot size was decided 650 metres square only. government displaced complete village without paying for construction . it is really sad india wants to become super power but have nothing in the name of justice. new survey should be done to allot plots to every single eligible person who is above 18 years by year 2007 . DDA have saved half land which was acquired for these villagers using this old survey however villagers didn't even get half of their land share. People of this village are considered to be sincere, modest and trustworthy. This village has given many scholars and government officers. This village used to have largest chunk of land as compared to nearby villages and people of this village are wealthy and influential from past many decades having record from 1300AD.
