His songs have been in English, Italian, French, and Spanish. To date, he has released seven albums, nominated for many ADISQ, CRIA and Juno prizes and has authored two novels, L'Étoile enfant and Dans les yeux d'Ophelia and an autobiography Cuore. BiographyCiccone was born very prematurely, with the doctors giving him just 5% of survival, as he recounts in his autobiography titled Cuore. Born to Italian parents originating from Abruzzo in south Italy, he lived in the Mile-X quarter of Montreal, at the time a very poor quarter of Montreal's Petite-Italie (Small Italy) region. His father died when he was very young, and he was a victim of bullying at school.[1] He studied Child Psychology at Montreal's McGill University and in 1998, he won "Ma Première" held annually for upcoming Canadian artists at Montreal's Place des Arts and upon win signed a record contract[2] releasing his debut album L'Opéra du Mendiant in 1998. The album was certified gold. He has went on to release a number of albums and had chart success with a number of singles. In 2017, he was assigned a spokesman for Quebec Autism Federation.
