It replaced the older, sidevalve NC engine, with which it shared its dimensions.[1] NCIntroduced in 1955, this is a {{Convert|3956|cc|L|1|order=flip|abbr=on}}, petrol sidevalve inline six-cylinder which produces {{Convert|80|PS|kW hp|0|abbr=on}} or {{Convert|105|PS|kW hp|0|abbr=on}} at 3,400 rpm. It was used in various buses and trucks as well as in early Nissan Patrols.[1] Applications:

Bore and stroke are {{Convert|85.7x114.3|mm|2|abbr=on}}.[1] Later with {{Convert|135|PS|kW hp|0|abbr=on}}, further modifications in 1965 increased the power to {{Convert|145|PS|kW hp|0|abbr=on}}.
