A year later he joined Rangers, but Martin became the understudy to Billy Ritchie at Ibrox. He managed to make seventy-five league appearances for the club,[1] 110 in total, and was part of the 1965-66 Scottish Cup winning side. Martin left Rangers to join East Fife in 1970 but only made two league appearances before leaving to join Queen of the South a few months later. In Dumfries he made four league appearances and then re-joined Hamilton for the rest of the 1970-71 season. Post playing careerUpon retirement, Martin took over the family business - his father owned a hotel in Prestwick.[2] DeathMartin died on 10 October 2013 at his home in Prestwick, Ayrshire after a short battle with lung cancer.[3] References1. ^1 2 RANGERS : 1946/47 - 2007/08, Newcastle Fans. {{DEFAULTSORT:Martin, Norrie}}2. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/local-news/former-rangers-goalie-norrie-martin-2466108 |title=Former Rangers goalie Norrie Martin dies in Prestwick |publisher=Daily Record | work=Edwin Lawrence | date=18 October 2015 }} 3. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/5269-gers-mourn-norrie-martin |title=Gers Mourn Norrie Martin |publisher=Rangers.co.uk |date= |accessdate=2013-10-11 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20131014051124/http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/5269-gers-mourn-norrie-martin |archivedate=14 October 2013 |df=dmy-all }} 13 : Scottish footballers|Hamilton Academical F.C. players|Rangers F.C. players|East Fife F.C. players|Queen of the South F.C. players|Association football goalkeepers|Dalry Thistle F.C. players|Scottish Football League players|1939 births|2013 deaths|People from Prestwick|Sportspeople from South Ayrshire|Sportspeople from Fife |
