Current Events

Elizabeth Ferguson, a physical education and health teacher, is under scrutiny from the administration after rumors (later confirmed) were spread of her using racial slurs in the classroom, as well as unconfirmed rumors of attempted romantic contact with students.

The new school is still under construction, as the sports field has not yet been completed. There has been controversy over the field's composition of astroturf, as the idea was shut down in 2017 by Ashby. According to the school, however, they "found the money," in their budget to install the field anyway.

The Administration is currently cracking down on students vaping in the school, with help from the Board of Health. These new preventative measures include one hundred dollar fines for students caught in the act of vaping on school property, or found to be in possession of any e-cigarette products, as well as bag searches with probable cause by the school resource officer. However, suspensions have ended as punishments for this.

Principal Isaac Taylor is known to be leaving at the end of the 2019 school year to become Principal of Belmont High School. His replacement is unknown, but it is between two potential candidates.

Meme Page Controversy

"Meme Pages," about events and people at North Middlesex have appeared and operated over the past several months, with the first instance appearing in early January, being wtw.nm. However, the earliest known instance of a school meme appeared in late November. Most, but not all, of these pages are highly critical of the school's staff and events. Many of these pages are highly controversial, especially those which posted videos or images of students. All known instances are (Owners in parentheses):

The Administration has attempted to deal with this problem to relative success. Mark Smith and Christopher Cummings were discovered early in their accounts' lifespans, and received punishments of thirty days suspension each. Administration is currently known to be working on discovering the identity of those_nm_memes, as the page has posted about numerous times.
