It was released on March 21, 1995. OverviewThe song "Negasonic Teenage Warhead" became the band's first hit single, after having appeared the previous year in different form in the American movie S.F.W.. Other tracks, such as the title track and "Dead Christmas" however, received little or no airplay, resulting in sales of the album being only slightly better than their previous album, Superjudge. The album did reach #51 on the UK Charts and #30 in the German Charts.[5] A music video was made for the song "Negasonic Teenage Warhead". In 2011, Monster Magnet revisited the album when they embarked on "Dopes To Infinity 2011: The European Tour", performing the album live in its entirety at several European locations. ReceptionIn 2005, Dopes to Infinity was ranked number 406 in Rock Hard magazine's book of The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time.[6] Track listing{{tracklist| collapsed = | headline = | all_writing = Dave Wyndorf, except where noted | title1 = Dopes to Infinity | writer1 = | length1 = 5:43 | title2 = Negasonic Teenage Warhead | writer2 = | length2 = 4:28 | title3 = Look to Your Orb for the Warning | writer3 = | length3 = 6:32 | title4 = All Friends and Kingdom Come | writer4 = | length4 = 5:38 | title5 = Ego, the Living Planet | writer5 = | length5 = 5:07 | title6 = Blow 'Em Off | writer6 = | length6 = 3:51 | title7 = Third Alternative | writer7 = | length7 = 8:33 | title8 = I Control, I Fly | writer8 = Wyndorf, Jon Kleiman | length8 = 3:18 | title9 = King of Mars | writer9 = | length9 = 4:33 | title10 = Dead Christmas | writer10 = | length10 = 3:54 | title11 = Theme from "Masterburner" | writer11 = Wyndorf, Joe Calandra | length11 = 5:06 | title12 = Vertigo | writer12 = | length12 = 5:41 | total_length = 62:21 }}{{Track listing | collapsed = yes | headline = Vinyl release | title13 = Forbidden Planet | length13 = 16:08 | total_length = 78:29 }}{{Track listing | collapsed = yes | headline = UK/European release | title12 = Vertigo | note12 = contains a 3:34 edit of 'Forbidden Planet' after 2 minutes of silence | length12 = 11:15 | total_length = 68:04 }}{{Track listing | collapsed = yes | headline = Japan bonus tracks | title13 = Eclipse This | length13 = 4:33 | title14 = Negasonic Teenage Warhead | length14 = 10:26 | note14 = live | total_length = 77:20 }} Australian Tour edition bonus disc{{Track listing| collapsed = yes | title1 = Intro | length1 = 0:36 | note1 = live | title2 = Snake Dance | length2 = 3:33 | note2 = live | title3 = Twin Earth | length3 = 3:59 | note3 = live | title4 = Nod Scene | length4 = 3:15 | note4 = live | title5 = Evil | length5 = 3:12 | note5 = live | total_length = 14:25 }} Personnel
